QLD Match Racing Championship: entry deadline extended

The entry deadline for next month’s Queensland Match Racing Championship has been extended to Friday 9th August.

The Youth, Open and Women’s championships will be held on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September in Elliott 6s on the Mooloolah River right in front of The Wharf Mooloolaba.

A total of eight teams are expected to enter. To date entries have been received from Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club (Klade Haushcildt, Fergus Gillanders, Ben Vercoe, Hunter Vercoe), Maroochy Sailing Club (Tim Edwards, Paul Schlawe, Mike Hodgson) and Mooloolaba Yacht Club (Mitch Kennedy, Lachie Young, Max Quirk, James Hodgson, Andrew Meligonis).

Other entries are expected from Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, Southport Yacht Club and possibly one youth team from Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred Yacht.

The event is being managed by Shane Smith while the on-water team will be under the direction of PRO Louise Davis and Chief Umpire John Middleton.
