Noosa Yacht & Rowing Club: school-based Traineeship program

Noosa Yacht & Rowing Club will again be providing the Cert III Traineeship program in 2014.

Only 15 positions will be made available

The Department of Education & Training Course SIS30512 will be completed by the Trainees.

The course is open to students going into Year 10 and 11 in 2014.

The NYRC Traineeship program, now in its 6th year has seen around 30 students complete this or similar courses in the past.

Schools in the region have been very supportive of the program and students from St Teresa’s Catholic College, Sunshine Beach High, St Andrews Anglican College, Noosa Districts State School, Noosa Christian College, Noosa Pengari Steiner School and Good Shepherd Lutheran College have all taken part in this program over recent years.

Students are required to work (and be paid) in the Sailing Department of NYRC for a min of around 7-8 hours per week on average and normally students would spend either a full day or 2 half school days working in the Sailing Department. Attendance at a monthly Saturday Workshop (8.30am till 2.30pm) is also required.

NYRC will be holding an information session for interested Students, their Parents and School VocEd Careers advisors on Saturday 30th November at 9am (upstairs Club House).

If you are interested in being considered for the NYRC Traineeship program and would like to attend this session please contact the sailing office via email sailing@nyrc.com.au with your contact details, your school and VocEd/Careers officer contact details and a brief outline of reasons for wanting to be involved.
