The new Gotta Love It 7 hit the water last weekend for NSW State Championship.

The new Gotta Love It 7 hit the water yesterday for its first race of the 2013/2014 season – and came away with a big win.

Skipper Seve Jarvin got the team off the line with a great start in the gusty 15-20 knot South-Easterly. A few good shifts on the first beat saw Michael Coxon’s Thurlow Fisher Lawyers and Micah Lane’s Appliances Online lead around the first mark in Rose Bay.

Gotta Love It 7 managed to stretch their legs on the second beat and took the lead with a right hand shift near Clarke Island.

After a close cross with the Manly Ferry on the tight two-sail reach down to Chowder Bay, the 7 skiff extended away from the fleet.

Over the next two laps, the red boat kept motoring, with the final delta just shy of three minutes – showing the team have lost nothing over the winter.

The NSW Championship continues with Race 2 on the 15th of December, with the 3 buoy handicap series filling the next few weeks.
