Laser Masters Nationals: Lake Gippsland to host fleet

The 2014 Laser Masters are being held on the beautiful Gippsland Lakes and are being hosted by The Gippsland Lakes Yacht Club in Paynesville from 13 – 17 February.

The regatta is attracting a lot of interest from keen sailors including World Champions, but there is also a large contingent of sailors and their partners attending the regatta to enjoy the wonderful Gippsland Lakes and the social side of the regatta.

The NOR contains the race information with the racing scheduled for 1400hrs starts, except for the last day, which means there is time for a morning round of golf.

Other activities planned include:
• ‘State of Origin’ Barefoot Bowls competition.
• Welcome Function on Thursday 13th with food provided.
• A Boatman’s Breakfast each morning commencing on Friday.
• Dinner on Sunday night is at the club, and includes the raffle draw.
• Monday is the Presentation Ceremony with food provided.
A spectator boat has been arranged to view the racing on a pay per trip basis.

With the mornings free there is time to visit the two local golf courses, ride the rail trail, visit the local wineries or brewery, or just relax by the lake or poolside.

The regatta has attracted some fantastic sponsors including:

• the Victorian Government,
• East Gippsland Shire Council,
• Gippsland Lakes Ministerial Advisory Committee and
• Bendigo Bank
so there are some fantastic prizes and activities planned.
